Woosung The Rose Releases 'Genre' Without Plans To Make A Physical Album, The Reason Is To Soar High

So Far, The Rose Is Known To Have Four Members In Their Respective Band Positions. Therefore, Even Though The Members Are Undergoing Military Service, Woosung The Vocalist Continues To Work In His Own Way.

Many feel foreign to the name Kim Woosung who is the leader of the South Korean band, The Rose . This vocalist has just released his first full-length solo album entitled "Genre" under his own agency Woolfpack after The Rose successfully terminated their contract with J& Star Company.

As is known, The Rose gained more attention in 2019 after their appearance on JTBC's " Superband". It is known that The Rose's last album release was in 2018 with E'Dawn . Given all the career twists and turns the group has had to go through, it's no wonder they're incredibly busy.

Even so, that didn't stop Woosung from releasing his own music. In this album, Woosung launched the 80s-style pop song "Dimples" and the solo single "Lazy". His first full-length solo album titled "Genre" is a digital release without a physical album.

He did this for several reasons. One of them is Woosungbelieves the first physical album for BLACK ROSE (official fandom name) should be made with The Rose. "The music album that we put out even though it's two or three years away is the first from The Rose. It's just my personal thoughts, we make choices and that's how I want to do it. I hope you are well for it," Woosung explained.

"I'm really excited to finally release 'Genre'. I wrote these songs a few years ago, so I almost feel biased towards all of this now, after listening to it so many times," continued Woosung.

It's clear that Woosung worked really hard on his first full-length album because he put a lot of thought into the production process. When writing 6 out of 7 new songs, Woosung also put out "Brainwave Visualizers" as a colorful visual accompaniment for each song.

Meanwhile, the album "Genre" has 7 title tracks including the songs "Dimples" and "Lazy" which were released earlier this year. Woosung's full album also includes five new songs with features from other artists such as BM KARD and Ashley Choi of Ladies Code who also co-hosts the podcast at DIVE Studios Eric Nam .
